Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy was instructed to appeal a decision near Lichfield, Staffordshire to refuse planning permission for the retention of a boundary wall to an existing residential property. The appellant has carried out the works without realising that they required planning permission. The application had been refused on the grounds of streetscene impact.

In determining the appeal, the Planning Inspector agreed with the arguments put forward by Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy that the development would not detract from the character and appearance of the surrounding area, and granted planning permission accordingly.
