Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy was approached by a local resident with a view to securing planning permission for the change of use of a redundant agricultural barn to residential use near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. The proposal raised issues in respect of the site's isolated, unsustainble location, the need to demonstrate that commercial/tourism opportunities had been fully explored, and the design of the conversion scheme.
Having undertaken a period of marketing to satisfy the Council's requirements and held discussions with the client's architect an application was lodged with local Council. The application was accompanied by a detailed Planning Statement and Design & Access Statement, prepared by Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy, and was subseqeuntly approved without any issues arising and the barn is now in the process of being converted. |
